Manual Motor Starters
From 0.1 to 100 A , the MMS range combine motor control and protection in a single unit which can be equipped with many other accessories. Major applications for MMS's are small machine tools, pumps, compressors, etc...,
MS 116 cover the lower ranges up to 10HP @ 480 V & 600V and provide cost effective and economic motor protection in many applications.Very efficient is the small width, thanks to which the customers can save space and costs in installations.
MS 325 is a high performance Manual Motor Starter up to (15 HP @ 480V & 20HP @ 600V) with a high short circuit capacity up to 100KA with a very low "energy let through"-value.
MS 450 and MS 495 are for the protection of bigger motors up to 100 HP / 100A.
All Manual Motor Starters can switch, disconnect and protect motor against :
- short circuit
- thermal overload
- phase failure
Description

- Terminals supplied in the open position, screwdriver-guide holes
- Touch-safe design : all connection terminals are protected against accidental touch.
All Manual Motor Starters have thermoelectric protection and phase failure protection. The mounting is done on a 35 mm DIN rail.

ABB Contactors
The vacuum contactors V-Contact are fitted with electrical latching as standard (mechanical latching on request) and are available in the fixed (fuse holder application on request) or withdrawable versions. They are suitable for control and protection of motors, transformers, power factor correction banks, switching systems, etc. Fitted with suitable fuses, they can be used in circuits with fault levels up to 1000 MVA

The medium voltage VSC contactors are apparatus suitable for operating in AC and are normally used to control users requiring a high number of hourly operations. The VSC introduces the drive with permanent magnets, already widely used and appreciated in medium voltage circuit-breakers, into the worldwide panorama of medium voltage contactors.
They are available in the fixed version with the following functions: Single Command Operated, electrical latching behaviour and Double Command Operated, mechanical latching behaviour.
The VSC contactors are used for controlling electrical apparatus in industry, in the service sector, in the marine sector, etc. Thanks to the vacuum interrupter breaking technique, the contactors can operate in particularly difficult environments. They are suitable for control and protection of motors, transformers, power factor correction banks, switching systems, etc. Fitted with suitable fuses, they can be used in circuits with fault levels up to 1000 MVA.

ABB Push buttons
ABB Modular Range of Pilot Devices
In addition to traditional operators like Pushbuttons, Selector switches, Emergency stops and Pilot lights, ABB also offers a wide range of special functions such as Machine stops, Toggle switches, Buzzers, Definite purpose pushbuttons, Potentiometers and Reset buttons.
The pilot devices have a modern, robust and functional design and can be used both indoor and outdoor. On front side the products meet protection degree IP66 and on terminal side they meet IP20. They are also approved in accordance with UL Type 1, 3R, 4, 4X, 12 and 13.
Operators are available with bezels in three different alternatives i.e. black plastic, chrome plastic and metal. Rotation is prevented by ridges and springs on the operators.
The Contact blocks are provided with a wiping, cleaning function to secure the contact function. The contact carriers are color coded to indicate normally open and normally closed contacts. For all illuminated products the same lamp blocks can be used for both filament bulbs and LED's.
The operators and pilot lights are fast and easy to install by use of snap-on solutions. Installation of contact blocks and actuators can be done separately and pre-wiring is possible

The Modular Emergency stops are designed for tough industrial environments. The products are approved according to IEC 60947-5-5 and meet protection degree IP66 on the front side and IP20 on terminal side. They are also approved in accordance with UL Type 1, 3R, 4, 4X,12 and 13.
The operators are available with 40 and 60 mm diameter mushrooms, illuminated or non-illuminated, with twist or pull release. |
